Next Saturday is July 4. Beside July 4 being the worst day to watch television in America and a time to be wary of the neighbor who likes to unleash a barrage of fireworks, the day represents freedom in the country.

Independence Day is a good time to be with family. The weather is typically nice. The day is long; sunset won’t come until late in the evening.

Although we recognize 1776 as the start of the United States, the American Revolution spanned five more years. This year marks the 233rd anniversary.

Being free is especially important this year considering what’s happening in Iran. Despite the problems have, people around the world are fighting, praying and dying for what we have.
