Waiting Difficult for Type-A Personality
I am a classic Type-A personality. I want my Minute Rice in 30 seconds. I whine too much at my slow computer. I figure that I have time to utter “this is slow,” then it is slow. I try not to utter anything to myself too often.
That said, I wonder why I must keep waiting for the United Nations Security Council to do something in regard to North Korea’s missile test last week. Condone it. Denounce it. Do something.
Speaking of security, who knew pirates were so plentiful in 2009? The French government just raided a pirate ship to take back hostages. The American government is still negotiating the release a captain taken by pirates. Captain Bly–or perhaps Captain Jack Sparrow–would be proud.
I’m still wondering when Minnesota will have two U.S. Senators. I think Al Franken will finally prevail over Norm Coleman but I’ve not heard an official declaration yet.
I’m waiting to see how Benjamin Netanyahu will operate now that he’s a week into his second tenure as Israel’s prime minister. He’ll need to balance being strong against Arab forces that want to crush his country against the desire of his allies–especially President Obama–to find peace in the region.
I’m also wondering how long after Monday’s deadline we’ll hear the results in New York’s special House election. United Press International reported Thursday that Republican James Tedisco leads Democrat Scott Murphy by 17 votes. However, overseas and military ballots received Monday–provided they were postmarked by Mar. 31, the date of the election–will be counted. I won’t hold my breath since no lawsuits have been filed yet.
