Answering Questions from Search Engines
I’m pleased to see that Politics 2000 gets quite a bit of search engine traffic, particularly from Google. I’m also happy that Today.com makes it easy for me to see what people are trying to find when they visit via a search engine. I’ll answer the questions that I’ve seen as best as I can.
pennsylvania governor rendall on obama to win
Gov. Ed Rendall thinks the Obama-Biden will win his state. I do too. However, the governor thinks the Democrats’ lead in Pennsylvania really isn’t as big as many of the polls indicate. James Carville famously said of Pennsylvania, “There’s Pittsburgh on one end, Philadelphia on one end and Alabama in the middle.” Rep. John Murtha agreed, at least as far his western Pennsylvania Congressional district is concerned. He said there are lots of rednecks in his district, although he later backtracked from the statement. The Republicans think Pennsylvania is in play but it’s hard to believe McCain will win a state George W. Bush lost twice. Especially this year.
understand politics
That’s part of this site’s tagline: How to Understand Politics in the Third Millennium. Lots of places will tell you about what’s left and what’s right. What’s possible and what’s impossible. I try to write about what’s happening. What is as opposed to what should be. I like politics so much because it encompasses everything else. From dogs to nude athletes to charges of socialism to the Electoral College, everything is a political issue. That’s because the extremists can find issue with almost anything. They then bring the issue to the rest of us, usually through favored media outlets. I try to understand politics better each day. I will be happy if you are able to understand politics a bit more by visiting here regularly.
fraser seitel
Fraser P. Seitel is an expert at public relations. He was the subject of the first interviews I’ve done here. I’m always appreciative and surprised at the amount of help people I don’t know personally are willing to give me. I hope my words do them justice.
obama+august 10, 2008+rcp
I think this one is a reference to Real Clear Politics. I like that site because it complies several polls and averages the data. RCP also separates the Electoral College map two way–tossup states and no tossup states. I like the no tossup version because history shows us even a one-vote margin means the winner takes all the electoral votes.
2000 politics
Quite a few references to the site itself. Here’s hoping there are even more tomorrow.
hitler
I don’t like to mention Adolf Hitler simply for the sake of doing so; however, I would think there’s be more searches for him when talking about the 1936 Berlin Olympics or World War II. Not really though. I think that’s a good thing for society.
vice pres running mate announcements
There was lots of talk about who Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain would choose as running mates. I thought retired Sen. Sam Nunn of Georgia would be an ideal choice for Obama. Nunn has as much experience as has Sen. Joe Biden provides plus an Armed Services Committee chairmanship and southern roots. I didn’t know anything about Gov. Sarah Palin. I thought Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty would be the choice. Young and conservative to placate the GOP base and from a region the party generally loses.
uncounted starz
The movie, Uncounted, gets a lot of visits even two months after I posted the interview about it. I liked the film. It’s clear the message is resonating with many people this year.
“sam adams alliance”
The Sam Adams Alliance is a non-profit organization that operates Ballotpedia.org, among other Web sites devoted to social and political awareness. I like Ballotpedia because it describes state ballot measures in an even-handed way.
xxix summer olymplcs
For someone like me who loves politics and sports, the Olympics are an excellent topic. There’s always something to discuss. I don’t think the upcoming Games in Vancouver and London will cause much political intrigue. However, there’s still time. I guess one never knows until the event is at hand.
us president electoral forecasts
I did a forecast within the first few days of starting this blog. I had the Electoral College tied at 269. It’s still possible but McCain needs to win every state that’s even close at this point. It’s a very tall order for him.
congress age limit anti-trust nba
I don’t like the idea that collegiate football players must work for free for three years after high school. One year in the case of male basketball players or four years for female basketball players. Yes, I realize those rules were collectively bargained for the work force in place at the time but don’t you think any employee would like to impose rules limiting the possibility of outside competition as much as possible?
mccain vice president rendall
I know I never said Rendall would be McCain’s pick for vice president.
zivity
Zivity.com is a modeling Web site that features work from my friend, Barbee Cain. Very nice work too, if I do say so.
mixie moxie
Mixie Moxie is the beautiful model in Cain’s photos at Zivity.com.
That’s enough for tonight. I’ll answer some more questions tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

I’m amazed at the google searches my site gets…I’ve written a handful of satirical posts, and I’ve received over 100 hits for the keywords obama+communist+muslim and obama+evil+plot.
I just wish I could see their faces when my site loads.
