44 For 44 Starts Nov. 3

Published by xzchief at 11:55 pm under Elections Edit This

Politics 2000 is proud to announce its “44 for 44″ campaign. I will be live blogging here for 44 straight hours–from noon Nov. 3 to 8 a.m. Nov. 5 pacific. The U.S. will elect its 44th president Nov. 4 (counting Grover Cleveland’s two non-consecutive terms as two official presidencies), which is why I chose 44.

I enjoyed practicing with the live blogging software from Cover It Live during last week’s presidential debate. I look forward to talking with you during 44 for 44. Between now and then, I’ll be working on finding some topical interview subjects who will chat with us. As commitments are made, I’ll announce them.

You know about the presidential election but there will be a lot of other races decided next month. There are 35 Senate seats and 435 House seats on the ballot, not to mention a bevy of state and local issues of interest. So there will be a lot to discuss.

I can’t remember the last time I was awake for 44 consecutive hours. Must have been at least eight years, if ever. Here’s hoping my computer and I will be coherent the whole time.

wow, 44 hours? i admire your dedication, wish you all the energies you will need for that 44 hours. i am curious though as to how you would work it here? will you be posting every hour or every time it is needed? or will you open a chat box for everyone like an on-line forum?
